Obituary for Robert L. Santoro

Robert L. Santoro, of Sellersville, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, at his residence. Robert was 80.

He was the beloved husband of Pauline (Krokowski) Santoro for 35 years.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Cosmo and Jean (Tralongo) Santoro. He was a graduate of Babylon High School, Long Island, New York.

Mr. Santoro was a mechanic by profession and spent most of his professional years in the mailing services industry, where he excelled at inventing mechanical components in support of specialized mailing projects. As he was not a person to sit still, in his retirement years he became an entrepreneur and operated his own knife and small weapons store.

In life, Mr. Santoro was hardworking and gregarious and could always find a way to make someone laugh or smile. His bigger- than- life personality was hard to miss, and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.

Robert was an avid fisherman, but his guilty pleasure was the “sport” of televised wrestling, which he was originally introduced to by his father when they would attend live wrestling events when he was a child. Robert was very creative, and on any given day you would most likely find him in his garage or shop working on his next “big” project.

To the end, his Brooklyn accent never wavered, nor did his outward, tough exterior. Those that loved him dearly would tell you that he was a teddy bear at heart, and he will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Santoro is survived by his daughter, Samantha L. Santoro, and her husband, Brian J. Garton; his son, Raymond Santoro; and his granddaughter, Alicia Santoro, all of Sellersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Santoro’s name may be made online to The Humane Society Of New York at www.humanesocietyny.org.
