Obituary for Austina B. Cunningham

Austina B. Cunningham, of Sellersville, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023, in Kindred Hospital, Havertown. She was 73.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Pauline Austina (Burd) Cunningham. Austina was a graduate of Saint Maria Goretti High School in Philadelphia.

Austina was employed by Bloomingdales for many years, but she wanted a change and went into the automotive service industry. She worked for several dealerships over the years as a service manager/advisor and loved every minute of it. It made her happy when someone outside of work would ask her opinion of what might be wrong with their car. She loved talking about cars.

An avid music fan, Austina loved all kinds of music from classical to country, but she particularly loved R & B, especially the soulful sound of Teddy Pendergrass and all the old school R&B. She had also enjoyed following the Philadelphia Eagles.

Tina, or T, as she was known, was a very caring and empathetic person who would give you the shirt off her back. She was very outgoing and would make conversation with anyone wherever she went. She had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. She loved animals of all kinds and was always watching “Nat Geo Wild” or “Animal Planet.”

Austina is survived by a brother, John J. Cunningham, and his wife, Donna, of Virginia; three nieces; and her best friend of 40 years, Lori A. Parker, of Sellersville. She is also survived by the Parker and Boughter families who loved her dearly and treated her like family.

In addition to her parents, Austina was preceded in death by her sister, Beth Untermyer, in 2013.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Please come as you are. No need to get dressed up. She would want everyone to be comfortable.

Interment in St. Stephen’s U.C.C. Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Austina’s name may be made to the Bucks County SPCA,
P.O. Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931; online at www. buckscountyspca.org or to any animal rescue of your choice.
