Obituary for Harry J. Roth

Harry J. Roth, of Sellersville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at his residence. He was 76.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Edwin and Bernice (Baker) Roth.

A resident for 26 years at the Pennhurst State School, Spring City, Harry joined the Lifepath family in 1983 at the West End residence, followed by the Poplar Street residence. He moved to Sellersville in 1994.

Harry had been employed by BARC Production Services and the Baldwin House, Coopersburg. Most recently, he had worked at Special Equestrians, where he enjoyed cleaning the stalls and caring for the horses.

Well-known as “Cowboy Harry,” he had enjoyed wearing his cowboy hat, cowboy boots, belt buckle, and bolo tie. Harry always spoke fondly of rides on his favorite horse, “Trigger.” He also enjoyed old Western movies, especially John Wayne films.

Harry had also enjoyed traveling, including trips to Las Vegas, Montana, Graceland, Nashville, Disney, and Atlantic City. His favorite place was the Rocking Horse Dude Ranch in Catskills, NY.

Harry is survived by his brother, Ben Roth, of Delaware; three housemates, whom Harry loved and adored; and three staff members, Teresa, Janie, and Ruth, who loved and cared for him for many years and who will greatly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gloria, Edwin, Jackie, and Delilah.

His Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 2, 2023, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will be scheduled at a later date in St. Stephen’s U.C.C. Cemetery, Perkasie.
