Obituary for Earl C. Pole

Earl C. Pole, of Sellersville, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Lutheran Community at Telford. He was 87.

He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Faye (Thompson) Pole for 22 years until her death in 1996.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Earl T. and Eleanor M. (Barben) Pole.

Mr. Pole was a U. S. Army veteran, having served from 1958 through 1964.

Earl had been employed for many years as a stone setter at Christiansen & Sons - Rock of Ages Memorials, Montgomeryville.

A quiet, gentle giant of a man, Earl earned everyone’s respect. As his children noted, “You listened when he spoke.” He enjoyed driving and had made several trips to the Western states. Hometown activities included watching the Philadelphia Phillies and the nightly ritual of the 7 PM broadcast of “MASH.”

In addition, he was an avid country music fan as well as a “professional” coffee drinker. Earl’s favorite remarks were “I reckon” and “fair to middlin,” expressions which he shared with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren during their frequent visits.

Mr. Pole is survived by his three children: Edward C. Pole and his wife, Susan, of Sedro-Woolley, WA, Donald R. Pole and his wife, Jennifer, of Sellersville, and Tammie DiLascio, of Tacoma, WA; six grandchildren: Jacob Pole, Robert Pole, Ashley Pole, Zachery Pole and his wife, Amie, Emma Pole, and Megan Pole; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elaine J. Clauss.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Pole, in 2011.

His Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 19, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment with military honors will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Pole’s name may be made the Lutheran Community at Telford, 12 Lutheran Home Drive, Telford, PA 18969. In the memo, please note for 2023 Employee Holiday Fund.
