Obituary for Bryan H. Wert, Sr.

Bryan H. Wert, Sr., of Perkasie, 79, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at his residence.

He was the husband of RoseMarie (Sickora) Wert.

Born in Elmhurst, IL and raised in the Fox Chase section of Abington, he was the son of the late Mark A. Wert and Eleanor (Schimpf) Wert Cathro.

A 1961 graduate of Abington High School, Bryan graduated from his beloved Williamson College of the Trades in 1964. He worked as a machinist while attending Temple University at night, graduating in 1970 with a degree in Metallurgy.

A proud veteran, he served in the Army Reserves for seven years and was honorably discharged in 1972, having reached the rank of Sergeant.

Following graduation, he held several positions in sales and sales management in the welding industry. For the majority of his career, he was employed as a sales engineer by Tinius Olsen Testing Machine Company, in Willow Grove, retiring in 1999. He took pride in the relationships he established with his customers over the years.

Bryan was the former chairman of the Philadelphia Chapter of The American Society for Metals, an organization that provided him with many lifelong friends.

An outdoorsman and a handyman with unlimited skill, he enjoyed working on projects around his property. Blessed with a problem-solving mind, Bryan could accomplish anything when armed with the vast set of tools that he had inherited or collected over the years.

He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren as well as vacationing at his Poconos (“Endless Mountains”) cabin. Bryan and RoseMarie had enjoyed exploring the U.S., especially the Southwest; Barrow and Denali, Alaska; and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. International travel included trips to Mexico, South America, and the Holy Land, with Father Jeff, their parish priest. Highlights were climbing Peru’s Machu Picchu, cruising around the tip of South America, seeing penguins up close in the Falklands, walking and boating around Brazil’s Iguazu Falls, exploring Rio de Janeiro, walking in Jesus’ footsteps in the Holy Land, and renewing their marriage vows in Cana.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Wert is survived by his son, Bryan, Jr. (Cheryl); daughter, Dana Pivnichny; grandchildren: Jack, Henry, and Kathryn Wert; a brother, Mark H. Wert, (Brenda); stepsons: Roberto Conrique (Elayne) and Peter Conrique (Carole); step- grandchildren: Ryan McKinney, Anthony, Aaron, AnnaMarie, Allykate, Pearson, Carissa, Christa, and Peter Conrique; and step- great-grandchildren: Harmony, Naomi, and Brock McKinney.
