Obituary for Linda L. Hufnagle

Linda L. Hufnagle, a lifelong resident of Sellersville, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at her residence. She was 73.

She was the beloved wife of Thomas C. Hufnagle for 52 years, having just celebrated their wedding anniversary on March 7.

Born in Sellersville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Perma (Leister) Hibbs. Linda was a 1966 graduate of Pennridge High School.

Mrs. Hufnagle had been employed for 27 years as a 911 dispatcher with the Bucks County Department of Communications. Prior to that, she had also worked part-time as a school crossing guard for the Perkasie Police Department.

She was a long-time faithful member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.

Linda had volunteered for many years with the Sellersville Parks and Recreation Board and was currently the vice-chairperson. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Sellersville Fire Department (SFD). A passionate dog lover, she had also served for two years as the president of the Perkiomen Kennel Club.

Always a talented craftswoman, Linda particularly enjoyed knitting and sewing. She was also an avid reader. For a number of years, Linda had raised and shown Lhasa Apso dogs. She had enjoyed traveling and dining out with family and friends.

With her husband, Sellersville’s mayor, Linda had supported all local civic events, from Winterfest to Gallery of the Arts to the Halloween Parade, along with SFD and Borough activities.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hufnagle is survived by a brother, David Hibbs, and his wife, Brenda, of Perkasie; two sisters: Bonnie Furlong, of Ephrata, and Tina Fiorey and her husband, Bob, of West Columbia, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, Thursday, May 19, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, with a visitation from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m.

Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s name may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church at the address above or to Last Chance Ranch, 9 Beck Rd., Quakertown, PA 18951.
