Obituary for Lynn A. Carpenter

Lynn Ann Carpenter, of Quakertown, formerly of Perkasie and Sellersville, passed away at her residence on Saturday, January 22, 2022. She was 64.

Born in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. and Elizabeth A. (Applegate) Hoke. Lynn attended Pennridge High School as part of the Class of 1975.

Over the years, Lynn had been employed in many different types of positions, from serving as a waitress and bartender at the White Horse Tavern, Sellersville, to delivering newspapers for the Intelligencer, to driving a school bus for the Pennridge School District. However, she described her time driving bus for Bucks County Transport as her “most rewarding job with individuals in need of assistance.”

Lynn was a past member of the Nase-Kraft American Legion, Post 255, Sellersville.

Her greatest pleasure was to be found in loving and caring for her family.

Lynn is survived by her son, Justin S. Carpenter; a granddaughter, Mercedes, both of Gilbertsville; two brothers: Barry Hoke, of Quakertown, and Ron Hoke, of Sellersville; and a sister, Patricia, of Midlothian, TX.

She was preceded in death by her two sons: Ryan N. Thorn, in 1997, and Jason P. Thorn, in 2017, commenting shortly before her passing, “I will now be reunited with them.”

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. -10:45 a.m., Saturday, March 26, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960 to be immediately followed by a graveside service in Sellersville Cemetery, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lynn’s name to Last Chance Ranch, 9 Beck Road, Quakertown, PA 18951.
