Obituary for Peter P. Ferri

Peter P. Ferri, 64, of Toms River, NJ, formerly of Pipersville, PA, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, in Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River.

Born in Doylestown, PA, he was the son of Peter J. and Patricia (Palmer) Ferri, of Pipersville.

Pete had been employed by Carson Helicopters, of Hilltown, and Van Sant Airport, of Erwinna, in addition to many other positions as well.

An avid outdoorsman, Pete’s passions were flying and boating. He had enjoyed spending time at the beach, from Crescent Beach, in Florida, to special times at Long Beach Island with his family.

Pete had so many stories to tell to anyone that would listen, and they were all true. These included: Pete, at a very young age, riding his bike from Pipersville to Pennridge Airport, Perkasie to take flying lessons; and Pete, at age 15, with a friend, riding his bicycle to Chincoteague, VA while camping along the way.

He had enjoyed tinkering around the house and helping his dad on the family farm. A keen bird watcher, Pete also liked to metal detect at the farm. He loved listening to music, watching videos, and making people laugh.

Time spent with family, from hours-long reminiscing about childhood memories with his brother Stevie to giving his son Petey new ideas for his books brought him great joy.

He lived an adventurous life full of excitement, whether rafting the Grand Canyon, riding his motorcycle to Sturgis, or flying his plane. With his good-natured big heart and willingness to help anyone in need, Pete was an all-around good guy, a friend to all, and able to make anybody feel better on your worst day.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his soulmate, Patricia Monastiro, of New Jersey; two sons: Pete Ferri and his wife, Jenn, of New York, and Kevin Ferri and his wife, Sarah, of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; a brother, Stevie Ferri; two sisters: Linda Doelp and her husband, Jeff, and Diane Cosgrove, all of Pennsylvania; two aunts: Sharon, and her husband, Jim, of Florida, and Pidgeon and her husband, Dennis, of Bucks County; two uncles: Chickie, of Pennsylvania, and Tommy, of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Stacey.

Pete was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bill Cosgrove, in July 2021.

His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, in St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Ave., Perkasie, PA 18944, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in Pete’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of one’s choice.
