Obituary for Alice J. Munn

Alice Jean Munn, formerly of Blooming Glen, passed away peacefully at the Pine Run Retirement Community, Lakeview, in Doylestown on Friday, July 9, 2021. She was 82.

Born in the Olney section of Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Murty and Anna (Gilligan) Fahy. Alice was a graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School, Philadelphia.

Employed for 30 years at the Hilltown Township Police Department, Alice had worked as the Chief of Police’s secretary and as a matron.

Alice had been a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hilltown since 1973.

A lifetime member of the Dutch Country Players, of Telford, Alice had performed in countless productions and served as a producer.

Alice also loved country music and had enjoyed visits to the Grand Ole Opry, Nashville, and Branson, Missouri (“The Other Nashville”). She had also enjoyed bus trips to the casinos and had journeyed to Ireland, her ancestral homeland. She had also participated in a church mission trip to the Czech. Republic.

She especially enjoyed checking out yard sales and then chatting about all of her many great bargains. Frequent visits with her closest friends also brought Alice great joy.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Alice June Munn, of Blooming Glen, and son, Edward W. Munn and his wife, Nancy, of Blue Bell; four grandchildren: Rosemarie, Sam, Chad, and Murty; seven great-grandchildren: and a brother, Thomas Fahy, of North Wales.

She was preceded in death by three children, Murty Michael Munn, in 2006, Bridget Munn, in 2019, and a stillborn daughter, Angel Munn; four siblings, Joseph Fahy, Lawrence Fahy, Fr. Murty M. Fahy, and Sr. Marie Gerald; and her former husband, Samuel E. Munn

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, July 23, in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927, where a visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m.

Interment in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne will be private at the convenience of the family.
