Obituary for Kenneth A. Weikel

Kenneth A. Weikel, of Harleysville, formerly of Perkasie, passed away in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township, on Friday, December 25, 2020. He was 80.

Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Arthur and Cecelia (Urban) Weikel.

Mr. Weikel had been employed at the former Freed’s Glass Company, Perkasie.

An avid collector of Winross diecast trucks, Ken had also enjoyed camping, whether at the shore, in the mountains, or in Florida. A California trip with a rented RV was also a favorite memory.
He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Remembered by his family as a “so-called handyman,” Ken was actually best at simply “rigging” items to work.

Mr. Weikel is survived by his three children: Kenneth Dean Weikel and his wife, Angie, of Allentown, Karen Green and her husband, Barry, of Lansdale, and Tricia Pinkney and her husband, David, of Buford, GA; seven grandchildren: Alexander Pinkney, Layne Pinkney, Barrinique Green, Madilyn Weikel, Paige Pinkney, Kyla Green, and Henry Weikel; and two sisters, Faye Lawrence, of Silverdale, and Joan Frick and her husband, Alan, of Sellersville.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021, in Sellersville Cemetery, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Weikel’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 or online at www.cancer.org.
