Obituary for Julia J. Gravatt

Julia Joan Gravatt, of Richlandtown, formerly of Orefield, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020, after an illness. She was the wife of the late Hubert H. Hambach, who died in 1963, and her late former husband, Harry D. Gravatt. She was 84.

Born in Abington, she was a daughter of the late Harry F. and Margaret Ruff (Aschmann) Stein. Julia attended Abington High School.

She had been employed as a certified nursing assistant prior to her retirement.

Mrs. Gravatt was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown.

Julia loved children and most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, listening to music, and sewing in her spare time.

Mrs. Gravatt is survived by her five children: Denny Hambach and his wife, Cindy, of Lansdale, Beverly Hambach, of Spring Mount, Lorrie Roberts and her husband, Tommy, of Perkasie, Daniel Gravatt, of Telford, and Jonathan Gravatt and his wife, Jennifer, of Orefield; 12 grandchildren: Michkal Young and her husband, John, Bryan Lewis and his wife, Tiffany, Bonnie Lewis, Ashley Smith, Brandon Lewis and his wife, Chelsea Huff, Taylor Gioia, Bryce Hambach, Alicia Hambach, Hunter Gioia, Amanda Gravatt, Madison Gioia, and Jacob Gravatt; and seven great-grandchildren: Makayla, Joshua, Nathan, Loriana, Trinity, Na’Vena and Bella. She is also survived by three siblings, Margaret, Thalia, and Cheryl.

In addition to her husband and former husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Christina Smith, and her brothers, Richard, Teddy, and Gerald.

Family and close friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 12 pm on Monday, November 16, 2020, at Jordan United Church of Christ, 1837 Church Road, Allentown, PA 18104, where family will receive friends from 11 am until time of service. Please wear a mask and be prepared to practice social distancing.

Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Huntingdon Valley.
