Obituary for Gene F. Todd

Gene F. Todd, of Souderton, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, in Quakertown Center. He was 74.

He was the husband of Shirley (Ahn) Todd for 43 years.

Born in Scherersville (Lehigh County), he was the son of the late Edgar C. Sr. and Margaret M. (Souders) Todd. Gene was a 1964 graduate of Parkland High School, Orefield. He also completed some coursework at Lafayette College, Easton.

Mr. Todd was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as an electronics technician during the Vietnam War era from 1966-1969. He was deployed to the Gulf of Tonkin and Puerto Rico.

Employed as a draftsman for his entire professional life, Mr. Todd retired from Reed Associates, Harleysville in 2010. Prior to his employment at Reed Associates, he had owned his own business, Gene F. Todd Drafting Service.

Gene was a member of Zion Mennonite Church, Souderton.

A member of the Orchid Society, Gene cultivated beautiful orchids and won awards for many. He was an animal lover, who held a special place in his heart for cats. He also enjoyed woodworking; playing the organ; reading, especially science fiction; star gazing with his daughters; spending time outdoors to observe the wonders of nature; following NASA programs; relaxing at home with his wife; and visiting with family, especially with his daughters and three young grandsons.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Jaime Lysoby and her husband, James, of Telford, and Michelle Cressman and her husband, Chris, of Glenside; three grandchildren, John Lysoby, Ryan Cressman, and Nolan Cressman; a sister, Carolyn Holdren, of Allentown; and two brothers, Elmer Todd, of Colorado, and Edgar C. Todd, Northampton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
