Obituary for Viola M. Ankenbrand

Viola Mae Ankenbrand, formerly of Sellersville, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020, in Manor Care, Montgomeryville. She was 88.

Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillie (Schwager) Kramer.

Viola had been employed for over 10 years as a sewing machine operator at the former Curwen L. Lutz Factory, Sellersville.

She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Zion Hill.

Since 1988, she had been a member of the American Legion Post # 255 Ladies Auxiliary, Sellersville.

Viola enjoyed gardening, canning, and listening to country music.

Viola is survived by her two daughters, Joanne Close and her husband, Steven, of Harleysville, and Shirley DeLong and her husband, Timothy DeLong, Sr., of Perkasie; five grandchildren, Joanne Mazzocca, John Greenwood, Timothy DeLong, Jr., Jeffrey Dry, and Roger S. Dry; and five great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Mazzocca, Shaina Mazzocca, Cody Mazzocca, Mason Dry, and Felicity Dry.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Kramer; two sisters, Eva Walker and Mary Wimmer; and her former husbands, Francis Schwager, Jr. and Frank Ankenbrand.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery, Zion Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Viola’s name may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2966 North Old Bethlehem Pike, Zion Hill, PA 18981.
