Obituary for Patrick J. Bolger

Patrick J. Bolger, of Northeast Philadelphia, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, in The Community at Rockhill, West Rockhill Township. He was 79.

Born in Germantown, he was the son of the late Thomas and Sarah (Murphy) Bolger. He was a 1958 graduate of Northeast Catholic High School, Philadelphia.

As a member of the Teamsters Union 107, Pat made deliveries for Wanamaker and later was involved with the transport of movie film sets and responsible for the shipping of equipment and actors’ trailers, “Honey Wagons,” to movie production sites.

After retirement, Pat remained an active member and was VP of the Retiree's Association for Teamster's Union 107.

Pat was a member of Our Lady of the Calvary Church, Philadelphia.

Pat loved being in the mountains, especially when camping, or fishing and hunting with his nephews.

Pat is survived by a son, Patrick Bolger, of New Jersey; a daughter, Darlene Whitaker, and her husband, Dave, of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren, Megan and Matthew; two sisters, Julia A. Davidson, of Sellersville, and Mary Brennan, of Hilltown; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Thomas, and Frank; a niece, Sara Bolger; and a nephew, Tommy Brennan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 12, in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927, where a visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to time of service.

Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patrick Bolger’s name may be made to Grand View Hospice, Grand View Health Foundation, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960.
