Obituary for Jay D. Weller

Jay D. Weller, of Sellersville, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was 82.

He was the husband of Dolores I. (Stover) Weller for 61 years.

Born in Hosensack, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur and Gladys (Hunsberger) Weller. Jay was a 1955 graduate of Souderton High School.

Mr. Weller was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during peacetime from 1955 through 1962.

A Pennridge School District bus driver for over 25 years, Mr. Weller had also been employed previously as a projectionist at the Barn Cinema, Doylestown for 15 years, on the assembly line at Strick Trailers, Langhorne for 10 years, and with the former Hartman Trailers Company, Perkasie. Jay was also the proprietor for 10 years of Weller’s Woodwork, a store at the Q-Mart in Quakertown.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Sellersville.

A talented woodworker, Jay loved crafting many types of small wood products. He also possessed a “green thumb,” especially with flowers. He most loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Durell J. Weller, of Pittsburgh, Annette E. Bibic and her husband, Michael, of Sellersville; three grandchildren, Jennifer Bibic and her boyfriend, Russ Beck, John Bibic and his fiancée, Donna Beaty, and Diana Worman; and six great-grandchildren, Treyce Benner, Karalyn Bibic, Rayne Beck, Timothy Klotz, Jack Klotz, and Anthony Klotz; and three great-great-grandchildren, Timothy Klotz Jr., Jack Klotz Jr., and Lily Klotz.

He was preceded in death by twin granddaughters, Susan and Elizabeth Bibic, and five siblings, Arlie, Pearl, Joan, Lorraine, and Duane.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2019, in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 104 Green Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.
