Obituary for Rae A. Zurcher

Rae A. Zurcher, of Telford, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at her residence. She was 87.

She was the wife of the late Carl E. Zurcher, Sr. for 36 years until his death in 1991.

Born in New York City, Rae was the daughter of the late Raymond and Sue Jeffries. Rae was a 1949 graduate of Overbrook High School, Philadelphia.

Rae had been employed as a secretary for 10 years by Commercial Electronics, of Philadelphia, and for five years by Estate Chimney Sweep, Inc., of Chalfont. She had most recently worked for 10 years in production for the former Peerless Shoe Factory, Telford until its closing.

Mrs. Zurcher enjoyed crocheting, playing board games, and watching vintage films, especially those starring Bette Davis and Audrey Hepburn. An avid Pinochle player, Rae also liked going to casinos. A favorite companion was her beloved dog, “Oni.”

Mrs. Zurcher is survived by her two daughters, Linda Jewell and her husband, Lewis, of Telford, and Cindy Streeter, of Doylestown; seven grandchildren, Jessica Mignogna and her husband, Stephen, of Hatboro, Philip Steich and his wife, Jennifer, of Telford, Amanda Fretz and her husband, Brad, of Hereford, Carl Streeter, of Doylestown, Selena Zimmerman, Cheyenne Fretz, and Adrianna Fretz, all of Douglasville.

She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Zachary Mignogna, Dylan Mignogna, Matthew Rogers and his fiancée, Shannon, Jaiden Hurrey, and Kiersten Olimpo and her husband, Glen; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Carl Zurcher, Jr. in 1983, and a sister.

Her graveside service will be held at 12 p.m., Monday, September 23, in Sellersville Cemetery, 25 E. Church St., Sellersville, PA 18960.
