Obituary for Lois Fisher

Lois Fisher, of Lehighton, formerly of Telford, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, in Easton Hospital. She was 83.

She was the beloved wife of Paul Fisher for 57 years.

Born in Colon, Panama, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel Sarah (Mortimer) McGuirk. Lois was a 1954 graduate of Haddonfield Memorial High School, Haddonfield, New Jersey.

Primarily a homemaker while her children were young, Mrs. Fisher had been employed most recently as a receptionist at Webcraft Technologies, Inc., Chalfont for 10 years until her retirement. Prior to that, she had worked in the Payroll Department at Campbell Soup Company and also at the former RCA, both of Camden, New Jersey.

Mrs. Fisher had been a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Sellersville since 1978.

She had been a member of Generations of Indian Valley Senior Center, Souderton, where she had also volunteered.

A dog lover, Lois had enjoyed gardening, knitting, and scrapbooking. An avid sports fan, she loved the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Lois had also enjoyed eating out at local diners and especially going to Cracker Barrel with friends and family.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fisher is survived by her children, Lynne A. Finch and her husband, Darel, of Spartanburg, SC; Paul Thomas Fisher and his wife, Fannie, of Freemansburg, PA; Lori Joy Geiger, of Holland, PA; and David J. Fisher and his wife, Dawn, of Lehighton, PA; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Carmany, of New Jersey; and a step-daughter, Arlene Rafferty, and her husband, Frank, of Philadelphia, PA.

She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Sandy Katz.

Her memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019, in Bethel Baptist Church, 754 East Rockhill Road, Sellersville, PA 18960.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
