Rochelle F. Detweiler, formerly a long-time resident of Blooming Glen and Perkasie, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January, 15, 2019, in LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown. She was 77.

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Ralph F., Sr. and Ruth (Fosbenner) Detweiler. She was a 1959 graduate of Pennridge High School. “Rocky” later attended Penn State University and received her BS in Education from Shippensburg State College.

Rochelle taught briefly in the Quakertown School District. She was later employed by EMICO, Inc. and, most recently, as a call center supervisor for Harriet Carter Gifts, North Wales.

A life-long, active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sellersville, Rochelle had served on Consistory and for several years as the Director of Christian Education.

Rochelle had belonged to the Lenape Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Quakertown.

An avid sports fan her entire life, especially football, “Rocky” also loved cows and collected them in every possible form.

She is survived by her brother, Ralph F. Detweiler, and his wife, Janet, of Bradford, two nephews, Craig Detweiler and his wife, Margaret, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Randal Detweiler and his wife, Mary Lou, of Bradford; a niece, Lori Wells, and her husband, Stephen, of Winchester, Virginia; several great-nephews and great-nieces; and many cousins, especially, long-time helpers, Jay Wenger and his wife, Patricia, of Perkasie.

Her graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019, in Sellersville Cemetery, Sellersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 104 Green Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
