Obituary for Jacob P. Bregler

Jacob P. Bregler, of Hatfield, formerly of East Rockhill Township, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at his residence. He was 91.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary F. (Fly) Bregler for 35 years until her death in 1989.

Born in Quakertown, he was the son of the late Augustus D. and Pauline I. (Schukraft) Bregler. Jacob was a 1945 graduate of Quakertown High School.

Mr. Bregler was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.

For more than 30 years Jacob had been employed as a home delivery driver/ “milkman” for both Rosenberger’s Dairy, Hatfield and, previous to that, Hendrick’s Dairy, Perkasie. Following his retirement in 1992, he worked as a delivery man for the former Dublin Florist and Town & Country Auto Parts, of Lansdale.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Sellersville.

A longtime fan of NASCAR racing (even before it was so named), Jacob had also enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies when they were on a winning streak. He had been active with the former Model Railroad Club, of Souderton, and was also an avid gardener. He most enjoyed spending quality time with his family.

Mr. Bregler is survived by his four children, Tami Bregler-Sarm and her husband, Daniel, of Hatfield; Sherri Ryan and her husband, Patrick, of Hatboro; Kimberli Lonie and her husband, Christopher, of Harrisburg; and Jody Bregler and his wife, Kristen, of Hooksett, NH; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, in St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment with military honors will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Bregler’s name may be made to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church at the address above.
