Condolence: Dear Joyce, I remember Fred as a kind high school boy with a glint of mischief in his eye. I am saddened by our loss of him. Holding you and your family in the Light.

Condolence: As a graduate of Pennridge High School, class of '58 I knew Fred from school. As the years passed by we would see one another as I eventually coached at Springfield in the sports of cross country and track and field. Fred was always a fun loving person and a pleasure to be around. Since we both graduated from East Stroudsburg there was a connection between us. RIP my friend.

Condolence: I was saddened to learn of the passing of Fred. I hold many fond memories of Fred from our time as members of the PHS Class of ‘59. I was pleased to see him again at our recent Class Luncheon reunion. I extend my condolences to Fred’s family. Paul Derstine, Chevy Chase, MD.

Condolence: I have great memories of teaching with Fred! As I started my career at Springfield Township, there were 3 gal PE teachers and 3 fellas. Fred was the leader of our group but more importantly, he was always full of stories and a sense of humor. There was a training room in-between our PE offices....lots of pranks and shenanigans happened in there. Fred loved his job and the students he taught. I enjoyed working with him for my first 5 years of teaching. Husband Jack coached with him under Al Black and then as he was head coach prior to us coming to Nebraska. God picked a good one when he gave Fred his angel wings.

Condolence: I had numerous opportunities to work with Mr. Patton as a substitute teacher. He was such a wonderful colleague and friend. Rest in peace, Mr. Patton.
