Obituary for Robert E. Jones
Robert E. Jones, of Nazareth, formerly of Sellersville, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016, in Easton Hospital. He was 73.
He was the beloved husband of the late Lynn M. (Nicolo) Jones for 23 years until her death in 2009.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William and Ruth E. (Johnson) Jones.
He had earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia.
Bob had been employed for many years as a firefighter for the Philadelphia Fire Department, where he had attained the rank of captain. He was later a manager for Ames Department Stores in several local towns. He was last employed by MOPAC, Souderton until his retirement.
An avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan, Bob had also enjoyed assembling airplane models and doing puzzles. A quiet man, he liked to cook and to study astronomy and science.
Mr. Jones is survived by his daughter, Kasie Jones, and her partner, Ryan Bell, of Nazareth; his son, Scott Jones, and his girlfriend, Jessica Kuder, of Allentown; a granddaughter, Abigail; and his many brothers and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth A. Wimmer
His memorial service will be held at 7: 30 p.m., Friday, December 2, in the Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. until time of service.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bob’s name may be made to the funeral home at the address above to help defray costs.
