Obituary for Larry G. Tomkinson

Larry G.  Tomkinson
Larry G. Tomkinson, of Sellersville, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016.

He was the husband of the late Donna M. (Cressman) Tomkinson for 36 years until her death in 2006 and the fiance of Sylvia “Sue” (Schrantz) Leonard.

Born in Quakertown, he was the son of the late Russell V. and Elizabeth (Auer) Tomkinson. Larry was a 1960 graduate of Pennridge High School.

He was a member of the National Guard for six years.

Larry had been employed for more than 45 years as a maintenance man/plumber at the former U. S. Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc., Sellersville. He had also worked part-time for Competition Tire East (Goodyear), Reading, for 21 years.

Mr. Tomkinson had been a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Sellersville.

A lifetime Honor Roll member of the Sellersville Fire Department for 54 years, Larry had served as a driver and an engineer.

He had served for many years on the Sellersville Borough Park and Recreation Board and the Sellersville Water Emergency Authority.

Larry was a passionate car enthusiast and a founding member of the Good Time Motorvators, Sellersville, with which he was active for 26 years. Larry had also enjoyed the beach and mountains.

In addition to his fiancée, he is survived by his three children: Michael Tomkinson and his wife, Diane; Michelle Tomkinson; Matthew Tomkinson; three grandchildren, Robbie, Ashley, and Dustin; his fiancée’s children: Yvonne Leonard; Jeff Leonard and his wife, Brenda; and his fiancée’s grandchildren, Samantha and Julia.

All are invited to a Celebration of Life Luncheon which will be held at 12 p.m., Sunday, August 21, at the Sellersville Fire Department, 2 North Main Street, Sellersville 18960. Casual attire, please.

Interment will be private.
