Obituary for James L. Rosenberger

James L.  Rosenberger
James L. Rosenberger, a life-long resident of Silverdale, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, January 4, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Linda (McIntyre) Rosenberger for 45 years. He was 71.

Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Harry and Dorothy (Steely) Rosenberger. Jim was a 1962 graduate of Pennridge High School.

Mr. Rosenberger was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.

Jim had been employed as a truck driver for Farm & Home Oil Company, Telford for 35 years. He had also driven for Rosenberger Dairies for several years. As a young man, he had worked as a butcher with his father at Rosenberger & Sons, Norristown. Most recently, he had worked as a driver for Bucks County Transport.

Mr. Rosenberger was a lifetime member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie.

Jim was a life member of the Silverdale Fire Company, where he drove the trucks and volunteered at all breakfasts and dinners. He was also a member of the American Legion.

An avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan, Jim also enjoyed NASCAR and watching TV.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, James S. Rosenberger and his fiancé, Kristi Boehringer, of Warrington; Philip G. Rosenberger and his wife, Denise, of Pennsburg; a step-grandson, Kyle; a sister, Joyce Patton, and her husband, Fred, of Silverdale; and his dogs, “Cody” and “Marley.”

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Rosenberger, Jr., and a sister, Mary Hartley, who died in November 2015.

His funeral service will be held at 11: 30 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, in St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Ave., Perkasie, PA 18944, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
