Obituary for Charles P. Kratz

Charles P.  Kratz
Charles P. Kratz, a longtime resident of Sellersville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2014, in Quakertown Center - Genesis HealthCare, Quakertown. He was 80.

He was the beloved husband of Gloria C. (Kachuba) Kratz for 58 years.

Born in Plymouth, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Stella (Senetski) Kratz.

Mr. Kratz was a U. S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.

Along with his wife, Charlie had owned and operated Kratz Janitorial, in Sellersville for 28 years. Prior to that, he had worked for Strick Trailers, formerly of Perkasie.

Mr. Kratz was a long-time member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville. He had also been a member of the American Legion, Nase-Kraft Post 255, Sellersville.

Charlie loved the Jersey Shore, especially Long Beach Island. With his wife, he had also enjoyed going on many cruises.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Kratz is survived by a son, Charles R. Kratz and his wife, Stephanie, of Lutherville, MD; two grandchildren, Andrew C. Kratz and Victoria E. Kratz, both of Quakertown; a great-grandson, Kayden Kratz, of Quakertown; a sister, Josephine Kreitzer, of Buttonwood, PA; and a sister-in-law, Janice Kratz, of Nanticoke.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Kratz.

Visitation will be held from 7- 8:30 p.m., Thursday, October 16 and also from 9 – 10 a.m., Friday, October 17, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where his funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday.

Interment with full military honors in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charlie’s name may be made to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960.
