Obituary for Kenneth Fosbenner

Kenneth  Fosbenner
Kenneth Fosbenner, a lifelong resident of Sellersville, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. He was 89.

He was the beloved husband of Geraldine R. (Dietz) Fosbenner for 49 years.

Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Florence (Nace) Fosbenner.

Mr. Fosbenner was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Italy during World War II. He was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.

After returning home, Ken worked as one of the first employees for the former Lemmon Pharmaceutical, of Sellersville. He later joined the U.S. Postal Service, working as a carrier and clerk for 34 years in Sellersville, before retiring in 1987.

Mr. Fosbenner was a life member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Sellersville, where he had served as an usher.

Ken was a 70-year member and past commander of the American Legion, Nase-Kraft Post 255, Sellersville.

A talented woodworker, Ken also enjoyed reading, camping, square dancing and traveling. With his wife, he had been a member of the Hickory Run Arounds, a square dance and camping club.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Fosbenner is survived by his children: Sherry L. Hess and her husband Timothy, of Perkasie; Gregory S. Fosbenner and his wife Kristine, of Sellersville; seven grandchildren: Brandon, Justin, Nathan, and Cara Hess; Lauren, Erica, and Alyssa Fosbenner; a brother, J. Donald Fosbenner, and his wife Phyllis, of Souderton; a sister-in-law, Florence Fosbenner, of Lansdale; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Fosbenner, and a sister, Dorothy Bibic.

His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 7, in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 104 Green Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service.

Interment with full military honors will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.
