Obituary for Stanley F. Kletzing

Stanley F. Kletzing, of Salfordville, formerly of East Greenville and Telford, went to be with His Lord while in Pennsburg Manor, Pennsburg, on Saturday, October 26, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Carrie (Harner) Kletzing for 66 years. He was 91.

Born in Franconia, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Mary M. (Frederick) Kletzing.

Mr. Kletzing was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in the European and African Theaters of Operations.

Stanley had been self-employed as a house painter for 48 years.

Ordained as an elder in the Presbyterian Church in America, he had formerly been a member of Providence Presbyterian Church, of Quakertown, and Lansdale Presbyterian Church, of Hatfield.

Mr. Kletzing was currently a member of Christ Community Bible Church, Perkasie, where he had served as an usher and had done most of the painting chores.

A talented musician, Stanley played the banjo, violin, harmonica, mandolin, and guitar. Raised on a farm as a child, he was still a farmer at heart, raising chickens, ducks, geese, and veal calves. He also loved his John Deere tractor. An avid reader, Stanley also enjoyed hunting and refinishing furniture. He particularly delighted in spending time with his family, especially his many great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Kletzing is survived by his three children: The Rev. S. Dennis Kletzing and his wife, Connie, of Everson; Gregory L. Kletzing and his wife, Barbara, of York; The Rev. Dr. Joel C. Kletzing and his wife, Nancy, of Martinsburg; and eight grandchildren: Rachel Brashear and her husband, Dan, of Greensburg; Nathan Kletzing and his wife, Jill, of Mt. Pleasant; Rebecca Kletzing, of Everson; Matthew Kletzing and his wife, Amy, of York; Jonathan Kletzing, of York; Adam Kletzing and his wife, Jennifer, of York; Benjamin Kletzing; and Daniel Kletzing, both of Martinsburg.

Also surviving are eleven great-grandchildren: Patrick, Hannah, Thomas, Meredith, Dylan, Ian, Abigail, Breanna, Emily, Sophia, and Caleb; and a sister, Beulah K. Seachrist, of Perkasie.

Stanley was preceded in death by an infant brother, Irvin Kletzing, and a step-brother, Joseph Kletzing.

His funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, October 31, in Christ Community Bible Church, 1830 Ridge Road, Perkasie, PA 18944. A visitation will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church. A visitation will also be held from 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30 in the Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.

Interment with full military honors will follow in Tohickon Union Cemetery, Perkasie (Weisel).
