Dianne I. Orme, of Quakertown, formerly of Prospect Park, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, November 19. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest H. Orme, who died in 1991. She was 72.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Isabel (Wakefield) Maund. Dianne graduated from Sharon Hill High School.

A professional artist her entire life, she had been employed teaching private art classes or at area schools. She had also worked at the Bryn Mawr College Library, the Barnes Foundation, and, as a young woman, as a secretary in the Office of Naval Intelligence, at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard.

A woman of great faith, Mrs. Orme had served as a missionary in Haiti, Alaska, Mexico, and Japan.

Most recently, she had been a member of St John's Anglican Church, Quakertown, where she had sung in the choir. She had formerly been an active 40-year member of Prospect Hill Baptist Church, Prospect Park.

Dianne loved to spread encouragement to others with her well-timed notes and cards.

Mrs. Orme is survived by her three children: Nancy L. Schnabel and her husband, Thomas, of Haycock Township; Thomas E. Orme and his wife, Kimberly, of Logan Township; Linda J. Ross and her husband, Gordon T., of Wilmington, DE; and six grandchildren: Alexandra Schnabel; Abigail Orme; Nicole Ross; Jacob Orme; Josiah Orme; and John T. "Jack" Schnabel.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Maund, who passed away on October 28, 2012.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, in Prospect Hill Baptist Church, 703 Lincoln Avenue, Prospect Park, PA 19076. There are no calling hours. The family will greet visitors following the service.
