Obituary for Marian P. (Headman) Gruver Jenkins

Marian P. Jenkins, 94, of Dushore, PA, formerly of Perkasie, passed away Monday morning, March 8, at St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Jenkins and the late Luther E. Gruver, Sr.

Born in Perkasie, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Barndt) Headman.

Mrs. Jenkins had been employed at the former Emico, Perkasie, for 25 years, retiring in 1978.

She was a Lutheran.

Marian loved to read and also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She had played the organ and piano and was a member of the former Perkasie Organ Club.

She is survived by her children: Mary Ellen Tyson, and her husband, Henry, of Quakertown; Luther E. Gruver, Jr., of Trumbauersville; Marjorie L. Coll, and her husband, Richard, of Sellersville; Judith A. Kulp, and her husband, A. Warren "Sonny," of West Palm Beach, FL; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edward Headman, and his wife, Grace, of Pennsburg.

In addition to her husbands, Marian was preceded in death by a son, Ronald D. Gruver; a daughter, Janet E. Warren; two infant daughters: Bette Lou and Baby Gruver; three granddaughters: Leanne Tyson, Sherri Chamberlain, and Karen Fly; a grandson, Randall Gruver; a brother, John; and sisters: Mildred, Florence, Stella, and Ethel.

Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 12, at 1:00 PM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where family and friends may call beginning at 12:00 noon until time of service.

Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Perkasie.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
