Obituary for Barbara K. Thomas

Barbara K. Thomas, a long-time resident of Bedminster Township, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018, at her residence. She was 82.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward L. “Jack” Thomas, Jr. for 46 years until his death in 2000.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Emma (Grear) Kiefer.

Along with her late husband, Mrs. Thomas had owned and operated the Rosyln Uniform Rental Company, Perkasie.

Barbara was a former supervisor of Bedminster Township and a member of the Planning Commission, the township's Open Space Committee, and the Bedminster Regional Land Conservancy. She was also a member of the Bedminster Historical Society.

Mrs. Thomas had also been on the Advisory Board of the Pennridge Community Center and a member of the Pennridge Chamber of Commerce and later on its Board of Directors.

A talented quilter, she was also an avid reader and enjoyed knitting.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her son, Raymond Thomas and his wife, Bonnie, of Houston, TX; a daughter, Dawn Uman and her husband, David, of Punta Gorda, FL; six grandchildren, Crystal B. Hessler and her husband, Edward, of Dublin; Nichole Miller and her partner, Courtney Mills, of Columbus, GA; Frank Benjamin Hessler, of North Ft. Myers, FL; Jacquelyn Hayden and her husband, Seth, of Winston-Salem, NC; Kristen Bond and Justin Bond, both of Houston, TX; and nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018, in Keller’s Church Cemetery, 3740 Ridge Rd., Perkasie, PA 18944. A reception will follow in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 3668 Ridge Rd., Perkasie, PA 18944.
