Obituary for Karen Ann Stanlaw

Karen Ann   Stanlaw
Karen Ann Stanlaw, of Perkasie, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, March 24, 2018, in The Community at Rockhill, West Rockhill Township. She was 63.

She was the beloved wife of Jeffrey T. Stanlaw, whom she married on May 6, 1989.

Karen was born in Allentown to the late Henry Stanley and Jean Delores (Schweitzer) Geary.

She was a graduate of Louis E. Dieruff High School, Allentown. Karen earned an Associate degree from Allentown Business School and her Bachelor of Science degree from Allentown College of Saint Francis de Sales, (now DeSales University), Center Valley.

Karen had been employed as a senior contract analyst for Merck & Co., Inc. Previously, she had worked for Air Products, Trexlertown and U.G.I., King of Prussia.

She was a member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where she had taught Sunday school.

Mrs. Stanlaw had coached gymnastics for the YMCA, Allentown and cheerleading for the Pennridge Greenjackets.

An avid gardener, Karen had also enjoyed sewing and often made pieces for family and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time at the lake house and family vacations with close friends.

In addition to her husband of 29 years, she is survived by her daughters, Courtney Nicole and Aubrey Leigh Stanlaw, both at home; siblings, Linda Susan Edwards and her husband, Wayne, of Allentown; Michael Joseph Geary and his wife, Kim, of Elon, NC; and the family puppy, “Ellie.”

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018, in St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Avenue, Perkasie, PA 18944, where a visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be held privately in Saint Andrew’s Union Cemetery, Perkasie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research, http://support.pancan.org/goto/karenstanlaw In addition, a benefit will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Caruso's Brick Oven Trattoria, 424 North Main Street, Souderton PA, 18964. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit “Karen’s Krew.”
