Obituary for Wilmer S. Landes
Wilmer S. Landes, of Quakertown, formerly of Perkasie, passed away in Independence Court of Quakertown on Thursday, March 22, 2018. He was 100.
He was the husband of the late Helen K. (Yerk) Landes. The couple had celebrated 73 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2013.
Born in Perkiomen Township, he was the son of the late Henry and Ella (Styer) Landes and the step-son of the late Edna (Godshall) Landes.
Mr. Landes was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II.
Wilmer had been employed by the former Royal Pants Factory, Perkasie.
Mr. Landes was a member of Christ Community Bible Church, Perkasie. Wilmer had a deep faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
Mr. Landes is survived by his daughter, Corinne A. Coles, of Quakertown; a granddaughter, Melissa Morris; a great-granddaughter, Kelsey Hughart; his siblings, Ruth Mast, of Elverson, PA; Naomi Yoder, of Boyertown; Mildred Umble and her husband, Vernon, of Christiana, PA; Enos Landes and his wife, Eileen, of Telford; Paul Landes and his wife, Janet, of Chalfont; Kathryn Schoenly and her husband, Elwood, of Bally, PA; Lois Martin and her husband, Tom, of Bechtelsville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Wilmer was preceded in death by two siblings, Beulah Haberle and Henry Landes.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 29, 2018, in Christ Community Bible Church, 1830 Ridge Road, Perkasie, PA 18944, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment with military honors will follow in Zion Memorial Gardens, Telford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wilmer’s name may be made to his church at the address above.
