Obituary for Elsie M. Bloom

Elsie M. Bloom, formerly a long-time resident of Sellersville, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016, in the Lutheran Community at Telford. She was 97.

She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth R. Bloom, who died in 1988.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Hilda (Gross) Bauman. Elsie was a 1937 graduate of Sell-Perk High School.

Mrs. Bloom was a long-time member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sellersville, where she had volunteered with the Altar Guild and the Women of the Church group. She had also taught Sunday school for many years.

Elsie had also volunteered at the Lutheran Community at Telford for 25 years.

An avid gardener, Elsie had won several blue ribbons in gardening competitions. She had also enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint.

Mrs. Bloom is survived by her two daughters, Nona R. Bloom, of Philadelphia; Patricia A. Drybola and her husband, Carl E., of West Rockhill Township; a grandson, Timothy J. Drybola, and his wife, Kimberly, of Telford; a great-granddaughter, Madison R. Drybola; and a sister-in-law, Jean Bauman, of Sellersville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Albert Bauman.

The family wishes to thank the nurses, aides, and staff of the Lutheran Community at Telford for the compassionate care they provided to Elsie.

Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017, in Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 733 Ridge Road, Sellersville, PA 18960. There are no calling hours.

Interment will be in Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Sellersville.
