Obituary for Jack W. Nace

Jack W. Nace, a longtime resident of Silverdale, formerly of Sellersville and Umatilla, FL, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, in LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown. He was 92.

He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Snyder) Seachrist Nace for nearly 20 years and the late Marilyn (Yost) Nace for 47 years, until her death in 1993.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Florence (Wenhold) Nace and Howard S. Nace.

Jack attended Sell-Perk High School.

Mr. Nace was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served as a parachute rigger in the European Theater of Operations, where he was the recipient of seven Bronze Stars.

Jack had been employed as a machinist at Turbo Machine Company, Lansdale. He had also worked at EMICO, Perkasie; Meyer’s Foods, Plumsteadville; and C. D. Moyer Company and Clemens Market, both of Perkasie, before retiring.

Mr. Nace was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Sellersville.

A life member, past chief, and past president of the Silverdale Volunteer Fire Company, Jack also had been a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1539, Sellersville and the American Legion.

Jack had enjoyed playing golf and bowling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Donna Snyder and her husband, John, Kathy Snyder and her husband, Tim; four grandchildren, Andrew, Jenna, Kristy, and Kyle; and six great-grandchildren, Cole, Brooklyn, Douglas, Benjamin, Zachary, and MacKenzie.

He is also survived by his two step-children, Debra Britsch and her husband, Steve, and Robert F. Seachrist and his wife, Maria; three step-grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, and Robert; and seven step-great-grandchildren, Gina, Domonic, Xavier, Jaxon, Bentley, Sophia, and Dalton.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, in St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment with full military honors will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church at the above address.
