Obituary for Willard C. Scarborough

Willard C.  Scarborough
Willard Charles Scarborough, Sr., of West Rockhill Township, formerly of Warrington, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, at his residence on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. He was 78.

He was the beloved husband of Bernadette (McGrath) Scarborough for 54 years.

Born in Abington, Willard was the son of the late Benjamin and Wilhelmina (Cook) Scarborough.

Mr. Scarborough served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

A member of the Philadelphia Carpenters Union for over 15 years, Will worked on many construction projects. He later was a construction supervisor for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, involved with the development and building of many churches and schools. He was also an inspector for the Chester County Housing Authority.

Mr. Scarborough was a long-time member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville. Formerly, he was a member of St. Joseph/St. Robert parishes, Warrington.

He had been a member of the Warrington Athletic Association, coaching football, baseball, and softball.

A diehard Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan, Will also enjoyed bowling. He loved animals and was a caretaker for many horses, dogs, and sheep. He especially loved going to the mountains and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Scarborough is survived by his four children, Willard C. Scarborough, Jr. and his wife, Michele, of Quakertown; Barry John Scarborough; Keith Benjamin Scarborough; and Lori Ann Tirjan and her husband, Michael, all of Sellersville; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Benjamin, Nathan, Alexandra, Emma, Gavin, and Brady; a brother, Kenneth Scarborough and his wife, Cathy, of Warrington; many nieces and nephews; beloved McGrath family members; and his dog, “Savannah,” and cat, “Pepper.” .

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Interment with military honors will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.
