Obituary for Katelyn Ann Fischer
Katelyn Ann Fischer, of Sellersville, passed away peacefully after a brief illness Friday, August 19, 2016, in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. She was 21.
Born in Meadowbrook (Montgomery County), she was the beloved daughter of R. David, Jr. and Kimberly J. (Dariano) Fischer, of Sellersville.
Katie was a 2013 graduate of Pennridge High School. She had also completed two years in the Culinary program at Bucks County Community College.
She had been employed as a prep cook at the Souderton Mennonite Homes and in the bakery department of Landis Supermarket, Telford.
Active with several community groups and organizations, Katelyn had volunteered at the Sellersville Fire Department during bingo nights, at Grand View Hospital, with Samaritan’s Purse to pack Christmas boxes, and with Adoption for Hope.
Katie loved watching “Toy Story,” “Big Hero 6” and the Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.” She had a passion for cooking and especially loved baking pastries.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her siblings, Michael David Fischer, Samantha Joy Fischer, and Christopher Joseph Fischer, all of Sellersville; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Ann Dariano, of Sellersville; paternal great-grandmother, Naomi Fischer, of Philadelphia; a nephew, Brayden; a niece, Leah; and her three cats, “Angel, the Brat,” “Rachel,” and “Slippers.”
Her memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, in Calvary Church, 820 Route 113, Souderton, PA 18964, where friends may call from 5:30 p.m. until time of service.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fischer family to help defray medical expenses in care of the Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
