Albert G. Schneider
Albert G. Schneider, a long-time resident of Sellersville, formerly of Perkasie and Souderton, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016, in his residence at Hidden Meadows on the Ridge, West Rockhill Township. He was 95.

He was the beloved husband of the late Janet E. (Buffenmyer) Schneider for 31 years until her death in 2013.

Born in Sandhausen, Germany, he was the son of the late Philipp A. and Elisabeth (Maier) Schneider. One of 11 children, Al immigrated to the United States with his family in 1924.

The family first settled in Quakertown and later in Trumbauersville. Al graduated from Quakertown High School in 1937.

Mr. Schneider was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as a sergeant in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. Wounded in action in France during the Battle of the Bulge, he received a Purple Heart.

Al had been employed for 37 years as a machinist with the former U. S. Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc., Sellersville. A group leader of the machining department, he retired in 1987.

A former member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Sellersville, Al was also a member of Forrest Lodge VFW Post #245, Sellersville.

He was a talented woodworker. Al had also liked caring for the neighbor’s dogs. With his wife, Al had enjoyed 87 bus trips throughout the United States, Canada, and Alaska.

Humble, with a subtle wit, Al was a kind and truly gentle man.

He is survived by his children, David Snyder and his wife, Corinne, of Berwick; Bonny Ann Snyder and her long-time companion, Bo Schuler, of Hatfield; and a grandson, Micah Snyder, and his wife, Katryna, of Bloomsburg.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 4, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment with full military honors will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.
