Obituary for Norman Ray Stull

Norman Ray  Stull
Norman Ray Stull, of The Community at Rockhill, West Rockhill Township, formerly a long-time resident of Sellersville, entered into rest Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at his residence. He was 91.

He was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude Ann (Bernd) Stull for 46 years until her death in 1997.

Born and raised in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Norman E. and Edith Estella (Klein) Stull.

Ray was a 1942 graduate of Sell-Perk High School, where he had been the center on the football team. He later was quarterback on the semi-pro Sell-Perk Greenjackets football team, which won the 1949 Southern Division and Big Six Conference.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Stull served during World War II in both the European and Pacific Theaters of Operation.

Mr. Stull had been employed for 36 years as a machinist for R.T. French Company, Souderton. Previously, he had worked for the former Schaffner Motors, Sellersville.

Ray was a past member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ridge Valley.

A life member of the Sellersville Fire Department, Ray was also a member of the Nase-Kraft American Legion Post 255 and the Forrest Lodge Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #245, both of Sellersville. He was a past member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1539, Sellersville.

Ray had enjoyed gardening and following Penn State football. He most loved spending time at the family’s mountain home in Bushkill.

Mr. Stull is survived by his children, Eric Stull and his wife, Carolyn, of Lansdale; Jacqueline Ann Fray and her husband, Theodore, of Dublin; five grandchildren: Tiffany and Ashley Stull; Theodore, Robert, and David Fray; a sister, Elaine Johnson, of Camp Hill; and his faithful companion, Fran.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Clarence Stull.

His funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 19, in The Community at Rockhill Multi-Purpose Room, 3250 State Road, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment with full military honors will be held privately at a later date in St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Ridge Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nase-Kraft American Legion Post 255, 75 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960 or to the Sellersville Fire Department, P. O. Box 315, Sellersville, PA 18960.
