Obituary for Mark C. Redfoot

Mark C. Redfoot, a long-time resident of Perkasie, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 in Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coopersburg. He was 53.

Born in Abington, he was the son of Howard L. and Lillian (Pfaff) Redfoot, of Palmyra, PA.

Mark had been in a residency facility of the Indian Creek Foundation for 30 years, where he had worked in their day program.

He had attended Perkasie Mennonite Church, where he especially enjoyed Sunday school classes.

Mark liked playing computer games, listening to music, Wii bowling, and traveling with his Indian Creek family. He had particularly enjoyed his visits to a dude ranch, where he loved to ride horses. He had also enjoyed eating out weekly with his housemates and the staff. Mark loved Christmas and always began the countdown to the holiday for everyone at his residence.

In addition to his parents, Mark is survived by a sister, Diana Jones, of Philadelphia; three nieces: Madelyn Coty, of South Carolina; Tanya Petrik, of Illinois; Meghan Jones, of Philadelphia; a great-nephew, Edward IV; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his second “family” of Indian Creek caregivers and housemates.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Redfoot.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 11, at Perkasie Mennonite Church, 320 West Chestnut Street, Perkasie, PA 18944, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Indian Creek Foundation, 420 Cowpath Road, Souderton, PA 18964.
