Gary Rutherford, 53, of Hilltown Township, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at his residence.

Born in Sellersville, he was the son of Anne (Fillman) Rutherford, of Hilltown, and the late Russell Rutherford.

Gary had been employed as an electrical technician for Local 380, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, based in Collegeville.

Mr. Rutherford was a member of the National Rifle Association.

An avid outdoorsman, Gary also enjoyed golfing.

He was a devoted family man, who loved spending time with his children. He was also an attentive caregiver to his mother. Known to many as a man who would “give the shirt off his back” to help those in need, he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Rutherford is survived by his daughter, Tyler Elizabeth Rutherford; a step-daughter, Charli Godshall Tyska; and his siblings: Karen Funk; Joyce Ziegler; Barbara Scholter; Russell Rutherford, Jr.; Bob Rutherford; Jack Rutherford; Edith Koehler; Alice Lewis; and Lillian Teston.

His memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 19, in the Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. until time of service.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Rutherford’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
