Diana C. (Cooper) Atkins
Diana C. Atkins, of Hilltown Township, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughters, after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, October 30, 2014. She was 87.

She was the beloved wife of the late William T. Atkins for 57 years, until his death in 2008.

Born in New London, CT, she was the daughter of the late William and Ida (Bindloss) Cooper. Diana was a graduate of the former Katharine Gibbs College, Boston, MA.

Mrs. Atkins had been employed for 35 years as an administrative assistant in the former Kenneth Kratz Real Estate and Property Management Company, of Souderton and Lansdale. She retired in 2007.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Telford.

When her daughters were young, Mrs. Atkins had volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, serving as a neighborhood chairperson.

An avid reader, Diana also enjoyed quilting, knitting, and gardening. She loved the water, whether river, lake, or ocean, especially Long Beach Island, NJ. Diana also loved to travel, particularly vacationing in Crystal Cove, California and taking trips back home to Connecticut to visit family. The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her beloved family.

Mrs. Atkins is survived by her four daughters: Jeanne Grater and her husband, Douglas, of Harleysville; Nancy Earnshaw and her husband, Neil, of Long Beach, CA; Susan Simon and her husband, Richard, of Pennsburg; Amy Nees and her husband, Glenn, of Perkasie; six grandchildren: John and Diana Grater, of Harleysville; William Moyer and Andrea Simon, of Pennsburg; Jeanette and Monica Nees, of Perkasie; a brother, William Cooper, and his wife, Nancy, of Ship Bottom, NJ; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Brown.

Her funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, at Grace United Methodist Church, 295 South Main Street, Telford, PA 18969, where a visitation will be held from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
