Obituary for Lynne D. (Potance) Kinsey

Lynne D. (Potance)  Kinsey
Lynne D. Kinsey of Green Lane, formerly of Sellersville, passed away peacefully at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township on Saturday, January 18. She was 70.

Born in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Louis J. and Mary Frances (Flory) Potance. Lynne grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from Kensington High School for Girls. She later attended Pierce Junior College.

Lynne had been employed as a medical secretary at Grand View Hospital for 30 years, retiring in 2009. Previously, she had worked in the office of Dr. Ruth, in Hatfield.

She was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, Hatfield and St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Sellersville.

An avid reader throughout her life, Lynne was also an expert seamstress and loved to cook. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and trips to the shore. As a child, she had enjoyed spending summers with her grandmother in the Poconos. She also especially loved cats and dogs.

She is survived by her two daughters: Cheryl D. Bard and her husband, Richard K., Jr., of Lancaster; Kristie L. Langen and her husband, Brian, of Green Lane; five grandchildren: Aaron and Daniel Bard and Tyler, Kassidy and B. Lukas Langen; a sister, Frances L. Shelly, and her husband, John R., of Sellersville; two nephews: Christopher J. Shelly, of Sellersville; Spencer S. Shelly, V.M.D., PhD., and his wife, Jennifer, V.M.D., of Ridley Park; a niece, Jessica C. Pollock, and her husband, Thomas G., D.O., of Sugarloaf; and two great-nieces and two great-nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

A private interment will be held in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lynne’s name may be made to Grand View Health Foundation, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960.
