Obituary for Alexander M. Furmanski

Alexander M.  Furmanski
Alexander M. Furmanski, of Perkasie, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at LifeQuest Nursing Center, Milford Township. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn A. (King) Furmanski for 42 years. He was 70.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Matthew and Bernice (Lubaczewski) Furmanski.

A 1962 graduate of Frankford High School, Philadelphia, Alex later attended Bucks County Community College.

Mr. Furmanski was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War.

Alex had been employed as an assembler at the former U. S. Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc., Sellersville for 20 years. He retired in 1994.

Mr. Furmanski was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville. He had previously been a long-time member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Quakertown. Alex was a third degree Knight with the Cardinal Stritch Council 4649, Knights of Columbus, Quakertown.

An avid model train collector, Alex was a member of the Train Collectors Association. He possessed an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of railroading, including trolleys.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Furmanski is survived by his two sons: Jeffrey M. Furmanski, of Perkasie; Daniel A. Furmanski and his wife, Terri, of Croydon; and two grandchildren, Adrienne and Daniel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a. m, Saturday, December 28, at St. Agnes Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. A visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, December 27, at the Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville or from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.

A private interment will be conducted in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
