Obituary for Elmer Raymond Ewing, Jr.

Elmer Raymond Ewing, Jr., 67, of Perkasie, passed away Thursday evening, May 11, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Elmer Raymond, Sr. and Elinor (Doughty) Ewing. He grew up in Wyncote, PA and graduated from Cheltenham High School. He spent most of his adult life in Perkasie.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had also served with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard; Company A, 728th Support, Sellersville.

Mr. Ewing was employed for approximately 20 years as a machine operator for Perkasie Industries, Perkas, where he was also a union steward.

He was a Presbyterian.

Mr. Ewing was a member of the American Legion Nase-Kraft Post 255, Sellersville and the Upper Bucks Senior Citizen Center, Quakertown.

A sports enthusiast, he especially enjoyed bowling and golf.

He is survived by one sister, with whom he resided, Ella Louise, wife of Fred Mathis, Perkasie; two nieces: Louise Sharrer and Lisa Goetz; four nephews: Edward Kling, David Kling, Fred Mathis, and Michael Mathis; nineteen grand-nieces and grand-nephews and seven great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and John, and two grand-nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service to be held Tuesday evening, May 16, at 7:00 PM in the' Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville. Robert Wiedemoyer, Chaplain, American Legion will conduct the service.

Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Company A, 728 Main Support- Family Support, 225 East Park Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960.
