Obituary for Lester J. Infante

Lester J. Infante., 78, of Perkasie, formerly of Piscataway, NJ and Chalfont, PA, passed away suddenly at his daughterʼs home in King of Prussia on Friday, July 18. He was the husband of Leonilda M. Infante. They were married 53 years.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Dominic and Carmella Infante. Mr. Infante graduated from City College, New York City with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He moved to Pennsylvania in 1971.

Employed for over 20 years as the head of the Research and Development Department, Insulation Division, of CertainTeed, Valley Forge, Mr. Infante invented Insulsafe and helped introduce it into the marketplace, pioneering the use of blow-in insulation. He retired in 1993.

Along with his wife, he was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville.

Mr. Infante excelled in mathematics and French. He enjoyed gardening and playing cards, especially pinochle and bridge. He ran the Upper Merion Bridge Club.

Mr. Infante was a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grand father beloved by his family.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Infante is survived by his four children: son, Jon L. Infante and his wife, Cindy, Garden Grove, CA; daughter, Marianne Infante, who provided special loving care through his illnesses, King of Prussia; daughter, Rosemary Fellner and her husband, Robert, Whitehouse Station, NJ; son, David Infante, Perkasie; six grandchildren: Christa; Rose; Matthew, who all helped their Mom provide special care; Sandra; Valerie; and Jon, Jr.; five great-grandchildren: Aileen, Eire, Jennifer, Jessica, and Tom; and a sister, Carmella Banfield and her husband, Dennis, Manahawkin, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 25, at 10: 30 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street , Sellersville. Family and friends may call Thursday night at the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville from 7:30 to 9:00 PM and at the church Friday morning from 9:00 AM until 10: 15 AM. Interment will be in the adjacent parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions may be made to: National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494.
